Did you know that humans (use) only use 10% or even as low as 2% of our brains?

Have you ever thought of how to get the other 90%?

I think this statement came somehow from "using only 10% of our brain at a time". We use a lot more than 10% I believe (just take all the areas which are associated with specific thoughts & effects), but I guess we are hardly able to use 10% of it together in a coordinated way.
At least your mind cant - your subconscious takes care of the rest. It knows everything you ever knew and is never wrong, but you cant use it with linear, logical thinking.

Monks have been shown to have a lot higher degree of synchronicity in their brain potential after years of meditation and together with interesting conspiracy storys about the origin of the human rage, aliens and genetic disempowerment, I'm really curious what potential our brain really has, when the mind and the subconscious are united...

i think its we only have control over that percent because i know the parts at the bottom are constantly working so that we can live. Right above the spinal cord are the parts necessary for your heart beating, breathing, consciousness, needs, the basics. That portion is called the reptilian brain. Maybe it could also be talking about the prefrontal cortex and memory center which are vital for the more complex stuff like thinking, learning, and memory.

My friend was telling me about some show he saw on tv. The guy (not a clue who he is, I think some researcher at a university) hypothesized that the reason we don't use the other 90% all at once is because our DNA prevents us from doing so. He thinks if our DNA didn't prevent us from using all of our brain at once, we would, in a sense, "overload" the circuitry of our brain, in turn, killing ourselves. This genetic block, if it exists, would have came to be due to natural selection.

So maybe it's a good thing we can't use all of our brain at once, or maybe the theory is garbage. With the sciences developing as fast as they are, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a definite answer to this question in the next 20-30 years.

If you want a rather crazy theory, which also takes the DNA into account:

The "original" human had the ability to use the full potential of his body, including the energetic system of the body and the brain. His DNA had 12 strangs and he was a telepathic being. The human potential was nearly unlimited (which was a good thing, since humanity was "lead" through their common spirit), but through the course of the early history of human kind (and I mean early as in "before the flood") he was genetically manipulated to be kept under control.
Thus he lost his telepathic abilities, which caused great confusion since language is just a inferior way to communicate and invokes lots of misunderstandings (babel, anyone?) and also lost his awareness of the higher realms of existence. At least the majority did.
By denying the knowledge of the past and presenting themselves as the true creators of human kind, those manipulators managed to lead humanity into a mind-set which lets them disempower themselves because they simply dont see the truth and accept lies as answers to their questions.

By now, humanity is in the process of reawakening. More and more people discover that there is more behind what is usually referred to as "reality" and start to explore their inner consciousness - which ultimately leads to rediscovery of ones true nature and potential.
And if you want to know what 2012 has to do with this: Imagine the whole planet being bathed in a stream of energy, reactivating the human DNA.
In the cosmic cycle this represents the moment of a forced global awakening and possibly ascension to those higher realms. Unfortunately, those manipulators have done a pretty good job so far and if you are in denial of anything behind materialism, your consciousness might not be able to cope with it.
Hard to explain, but maybe you could imagine the whole planet suddenly TRIPPING BALLS on LSD. Those who are open to it and got a good mind-set will embrace the experience and grow with it - those who oppose it will suffer and probably break down.

Yes, I honestly believe this. Sounds rather crazy if you read it the first time, but I've been gathering informations since several years, connecting dots and making experiences within myself - and I havent found a single thing, which doesnt fit it. In the common belief-system, there are so many holes which are just explained as anomalies or "we dont know yet, so we dont care".

If anyone is interested in some more details... read this! Its really worth it.

That is a tad crazy... but interesting. Crazy is often a good thing though. ;)

I'm still not sure what I believe will happen in 2012, but there seems to be vast agreement that something will happen.
