. . Even if you want to quit because it will give you cancer, being alive alone can give you cancer. Breathing the air, is giving you cancer right now.
Ciggarettes were an invention that, ironically, is mostly used to reduce stress, but in the end, can give you cancer and you will possibly die. .

 Re: Snuff.
I can't say that I'm proud that I enjoy smoking tobacco, but I do enjoy it (I'm well aware that I won't be enjoying it in the long run). I don't plan on even trying to quit until I stop liking it. I've heard so many people my age spew a bunch of bullshit and say that "it calms them down" - which is not entirely false, but obviously that's where the factor of physical addiction comes into play. I get stressed and really pissy when I haven't had a smoke in a few hours. The reason the stress is there to begin with is because the nicotine creates it over time, and then treats you by taking away the stress that it gave you for a while. Also known as the "reward system," just like food.
The net gain/loss of stress ends up totaling out to zero. The addiction just creates an illusion.
I'm sure everyone already knew all of this, but I didn't realize it myself until admin began to lecture me about my bad habit xD. Too many kids I know smoke, and they come up with every excuse as to why they do it, and why they don't quit. Even I have my excuses and reasons (however they still don't really justify it as they tend to believe). There have been some very rare days when I would wake up and not even twitch toward my lighter. I would have been able to quit easily as ever on these days, but I didn't want to. I like the taste too much, unfortunately. If I didn't like the taste, I would have been smoke free for almost a year by now. I just don't have a desire to live a long life, and it makes me sad some days.

 Re: Snuff.
People smoke because of stress but smoking does cause it as well. But after a while, it relieves stress, making you wanna smoke more.

Either way, I'm not heavily drinking alcohol because it reduces stress as well. I'm sure that if alcohol didn't cause hangovers, it would be more popular than cigarettes.
