This is very important to understanding what is brainwave itself. In this time a little bwe practicioners not exactly know what is brainwave itself. Ok i will try to explain.

Many neuron activities in our brain. Neurons connecting and disconnecting each another, communicating with electrical activities. These activities can be monitored by the equipment called electroencephalograph. The neurons activities shown like "beat" on their electrical activities. The "beat" is the cycles of the voltage of electrical neurons activities. So something like "weak - strong" impulse cycles continually. This beats measured in Hz field. In infratonic scale.

The dominant brainwave frequency is happen by the dominant quantity of neurons that "electric-beating" in the equal activity. This dominant frequency will affect on yours.

So this is why isochronic more powerfull then binaural. Because the principal of isochronic is, when the iso-tones on,.. thats will stimulate the more neurons to connects each another and communicate with electrical activities. And if the iso-tones off,.. that will "stop/minimize" their activities. So the correlation is "on-off" tones to "strong-weak" neuron activities. so this is equal with "the cycles of brainwave". . This process called Cortical Evoked Response (CER), and the phenomena is Frequency Following Response (FFR).

You can find nearly everything you need to know about brainwave entrainment here:

http://brain.web-us.com/binaural.htm

Its mainly based upon binaural beats, but the basic concept is the same with isochromatic tones.
