General Entrainment...

I've known about it for awhile.

It's never, ever, ever worked for me :(

I started binaural (the other stuff etc.) which didn't work even in a perfect setup, tried the ganzfeld experiment (basically you are depriving your sense of sight with the exact same sight for a few minutes, brain makes up its own stuff and you hallucinate) which also didn't work for me.

Then I tried isotones, which, also setup perfectly, don't work for me.

Is there something I'm missing? I mean, even the ganzfeld stuff should have worked easily considering it's such a widely known and explainable thing.

Help! I want to tap into this awesome-looking world of brainwave entrainment.

Hi and welcome to the forums :>

If you arranged a perfect setup, I cant think of a reason it didnt work. Are you sure you didnt just expect too much? The differences you can notice are usually rather subtle, as a shift of mood/awareness/wakefulness. No drug-like feeling or alike (as stupid the other stuff advertises).
//Edit: Ha, didnt know we got a wordfilter in this forum... 'the other stuff' :D

For noticing effects at all, I suggest X-Zedrin.
The transition between the state of relaxation and alertness is pretty noticeable imho. Watch for the difference of how focused you feel when the frequency of the pulse ramps up.

And about the ganzfeld procedure: I havent tried it myself so far, but if you only 'bored' you eyes, its not enough. You have to work with your ears too - there is a ganzfeld mp3 on iso-tones containing only white noise for exactly this. Maybe try it again?

Once again, for all kind of procedures like these: Don't be too expectant of entertaining effects, I doubt you get full-blown hallucinations in a couple of minutes.

Hi again, thanks for the input.

As for what you asked about the ganzfeld, I had my mp3 player repeating white noise in a quiet setting as well. Unfortunately, it failed to work.

hello asda653

Care to explain us what you are looking for exactly? That way it would be easier for us to direct you to some tones that might end up working for you.

Peace
