It's that time of the year again - as April comes closer so does the end of yet another year's worth of hosting. Every year I manage to scrape together enough money to cover another 12 months worth of hosting and donations usually account for a decent amount of this. This year, however, donations have been slim (nonexistent) and I know I can be partially to blame for that. It's been ages since an update and the message board was broken for a good two months straight. On top of all these administrative problems I've also had a rather serious problem with not checking my emails (I'm a busy person and I try my best). Yet even with all of this there are still thousands of visitors downloading nearly 1000 gigabytes worth of tones every month. The hosting plan I use and will continue to use is roughly $10/month for all of my bandwidth and storage needs, which ends up costing around $120/year. As we all know, times are tough and money is not exactly piling up, and while $120 may seem like a small amount to keep the site running for another year it is an amount that I am having trouble securing to put toward Iso-Tones. I have done a lot of thinking and realize that asking for $120 in donations over the next two weeks may be a somewhat unrealistic goal (but at the same time I'm not so sure). This is why I have decided that if I can reach $60 in donations I will be willing to pay for the other half of the hosting plan even if it means making money tight for awhile, because the site is a project that I love and I would love to see it grow more in the future. The donation button can be found on the homepage at http://iso-tones.com - donating takes 2 minutes through paypal and is greatly greatly appreciated!

You know I would donate if I could. Still hoping to get a job soon.

It's okay LtCol you've helped contribute more than enough to this site and I know that if we can renew the hosting and put all of our new ideas into motion the site and community will benefit greatly from your efforts.

Here's hoping people will show their support by donating - if just 1% of unique visitors from one month were to donate $5 each we could raise around $850 in donations to put toward hosting, redesigning the website, investing in EEG hardware for more accurate tone testing (on a more scientific level, rather than just gauging effects based on user feedback), and developing either a piece of open-source programmable hardware or a versatile iPhone/Android app.

Wow, looks like I read your idea a little too late Mickoes - I'd like to thank everyone who donated for helping reach (and exceed) the donation goal of $60! I am happy to announce that Iso-Tones.com will be moving forward for another year and there are many planned improvements for this new year! Thank you all!

Heh, but I will still donate for the other iso-tones projects as soon as I can. Keeping tracking of that would help us all collaborate and get things moving.

Happy to see that you have reached the amount needed for renewal for the upcoming year. I have been back to using the tones now for about a month, so I will try and remember to donate a few times to help you with your fee's.

I've been good as well, lately I've been a little busier than I'd like to be but that's okay.
